A Note From Bob
The cartoonist they said had no ideas
Friday. In 1919, a Kansas City newspaper editor fired a young artist, telling him he lacked imagination and had no good ideas. That artist was Walt Disney. He answered with Mickey Mouse, Snow White, Disneyland, and more Academy Awards than any individual in history. Today's featured quiz covers the remarkable life of America's master showman. Pour the coffee.

Today's Featured Quiz
Walt Disney
From a fired newspaper cartoonist to the most decorated filmmaker in Academy Award history. The man who voiced Mickey Mouse himself, opened Disneyland, and even helped plan a Winter Olympics along the way. 15 questions.
The Answer
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
The industry was certain a feature-length cartoon would bankrupt him. Instead, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs became the highest-grossing film of its day and earned Walt an honorary Academy Award: one full-size Oscar presented alongside seven miniature ones. That question bridges both of today's quizzes, and 44 more questions are waiting for you.
On This Day
On this day in 1955, Disneyland opened its gates in Anaheim, California. Walt's own team remembered it as "Black Sunday": a heat wave softened the fresh asphalt on Main Street, rides broke down, and thousands of counterfeit tickets flooded the park. Millions watched the live ABC broadcast anyway, and within weeks the park was a runaway success. Today's second quiz celebrates what Walt's studio went on to build, with 30 questions on the most famous films of Walt Disney Pictures.
